The Couple
Maria and Andrew, I really don’t even know where to start! To say they are the perfect couple, just doesn’t do them enough justice. Individually and as a whole Maria and Andrew are arguably the nicest people you will ever meet. When I initially met with Maria we clicked right away and I knew she was going to be such a fun bride to work with; but fast forward to their engagement session when I was able to meet Andrew as well all I could think to myself was WOW, this couple is absolutely amazing! They have the personality, humor, looks, and so much more! I mean, our favorite photo from their engagement session came from when a little kid made a comment about them kissing in front of the Ellicott City Clock. Check out their engagement session HERE!
The Wedding
Maria loved planning their wedding. All stress aside, planning the day she married her funny and loyal man was fun! All the while, Andrew loved the idea of celebrating the future he is soon to share with his perfect, irreplaceable wife!
The weeks (and definitely days) leading up to their wedding, we were closely following the radar as this year’s weather has been a mess and rain was in the forecast – again! But we lucked out with a perfect rain-free window for all the portraits. Maria had all of her bridal preparations at The Belvedere is Baltimore. Maria’s large (13 girls) bridal party all looked absolutely flawless! Her sisters and cousins helped her to get into her wedding dress, shoes, jewelry, and placed her veil. A few final primps and fluffs were made before she had a first look with the other half of her bridal party – all of her best friends!
Andrew and his guys were busy putting on their fish themed socks, sharing a swig of bourbon, and putting the finishing touches on Andrew’s wedding day suit. His dad and brothers made sure his tie was straight, his suit was pristine, and his cufflinks were secured.
The Smith’s were married at Immaculate Conception in Towson. Andrew couldn’t contain his excitement when his bride walked down the aisle (or throughout the entire ceremony – so cute!). Their ceremony was perfectly curated to the two of them as a couple as their pastor made sure to reference The Orioles, Pizza, and many other personal traits.
Following their grand entrance into the Mountain Branch Golf Club reception, they shared their first dance to Thinking Out Loud. In lieu of the traditional father daughter dance, Maria created a slideshow dedicated to her mother – the tears were flowing all around the room. Clips of the slideshow read: “Kudos to my single mom raising six daughters on her own. I’m so blessed to have been given a mother like you, I truly don’t know where I’d be without you. Thank you for bringing me into this world, thank you for bringing me sisters and friends at such a young age. Thank you for showing me what it meant to be strong, thank you for teaching me to love and for showing me what I deserve. Thank you for helping me do the impossible and being my biggest supporter. I hope someday I will be half the mom that you are.”
The toasts from their maid/matrons of honor and best men had the crowd laughing non stop, but Conner took the cake when he iced the couple. He had just finished his speech to Maria warning her to never beat Andrew at anything because it was just easier to lose, when she crushed him at a spontaneous chug of a Smirnoff Ice! But really, what better way is there to prove that she is by far THE ONE for him!
I could write so much more about their wedding day as it was definitely one for the books, but I will let the photos do the rest of the talking. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Smith!!
