The Folk Story

Samantha and Joe met while working at Gianni’s at Frostburg University. They worked together for about two years before they started dating, and as the story goes – Sam’s sister just thought he was a super nice guy who would pick them up from parties on delivery runs and help out with a few things Sam needed fixed around the house. It was soon obvious that there was much more to their story, but I feel that her first impression of him was very similar to how Sam described Joe to me – Warm and supportive.
Joe said that after only two short weeks of dating Samantha, he knew that she was the one he wanted to marry. The moment came to him as he was admiring her during a drive down to meet her family. He told her sister that day “I am done searching, I found the one I am meant to be with”. About two and a half years later Joe proposed to Samantha in their home surrounded by candles, rose petals, and pictures of the two of them.
Samantha and Joe were married at Ceresville Mansion in Frederick, Maryland on a chilly and misty fall day. Thankfully, they didn’t need any help from the sun as their love, kindness, and happiness shined bright enough as it was. After their bridal party and family helped with their finishing touches, they shared a sweet first look out by the pergola. I loved that they were both just about speechless when seeing the other for the first time on their wedding day. Their ceremony was held in front of the fireplace in the ballroom and was filled with laughter. I truly enjoyed the cozy and inviting vibe. The ceremony was a true sign of not only their love for each other(of course) but the love their family and friends have for them as they stood almost the entire ceremony dedicatedly until the officiant realized he hadn’t told them they may be seated. This of course was just one of the events that filled the room with laughter.
After their introductions into the reception, they took their spots on the dance floor awaiting their first dance song. Joe picked the song out himself and kept it a surprise from Samantha until this very moment. I thought that was such a sweet and fun twist on the first dance. Fast forward through a delicious dinner and a few heartfelt speeches – the dance floor was open. And even more-so, it was PACKED! Michael of Shew-sical impressed the guests with his awesome DJing skills and keeping the dance floor overflowed until the sparkler send-off. What an amazing day for a truly amazing couple!!
